Hobart is the southern most city in Australia and the capital of the state of Tasmania. Founded in 1804 by the British, originally Hobart was a penal colony. It is the second oldest city in Australia after Sydney. It is a small but busy city with a population of approximately 215,000 in the greater area. Hobart is characterized by many 19th century sandstone buildings and a very scenic outlook.
Tasmania itself is one of the most beautiful states in Australia and one of my favourite destinations back home. I used to work and travel there quite often, the following is one of my favourite photos I took in 2009 at dusk on Hobart’s harbour.
