Birds of the Wimmera I

Spending time in my old home town of Horsham in the Wimmera region of Victoria, Australia over this spring/summer has provided a great opportunity to see an amazing array of Australian birds. The diversity of species living on the river and amongst the wetlands right in and around the town is fantastic. Just a few years ago all these places were bone dry due to a 12 year-long drought! Here are a few of the bigger birds including Herons, Great Egrets, a Black Swan, Kookaburras and the Emu.
