When I travelled through Zambia in August 2004, I not only enjoyed the stunning views of Victoria Falls from ground level, I also had the opportunity to take a joy flight in an ultralight over the “The Smoke that Thunders“. That was something I was not going to pass up!
You were not allowed to take your own camera onboard but you could give them a roll of 35mm film to go into the camera out on the wing (digital cameras were still rare back then). The results were fantastic!
The falls are spectacular and to see them from above was a unique experience I will never forget. The only worry was seeing all those big crocodiles and hippos down below in the Zambesi River!
