Southern Iceland – Seljalandsfoss

Iceland and it’s waterfalls. Plentiful and beautiful. Travelling on the Southern Ring Road I arrived pretty late in the day at Seljalandsfoss on the river Seljalandsá. The sun was dropping fast on an ever so short Icelandic winters day but not to fear, luckily the waterfall is illuminated at night. I didn’t attempt the icy staircase to the top as that seemed a bit foolhardy in the dark but the view from down below of this 60 metre (200 foot) waterfall was great as it was.

  1. Nice! This is one of my favorite waterfalls. I was there in the summer, but winter sounds like it would be just as wonderful.
