The Wimmera-Mallee Silo Art Trail is now complete with the final leg recently painted by artist Kaff-eine at the Rosebery silo (completed in November 2017 after 22 days of painting!). The tall art work depicts a young woman with a sheep and a Mallee horseman with his steed. More of a street art style than the other sites, it is a unique addition to the trail!
I got to check it out this week, along with the painted Holden Gemini car across the road at the Mallee Sunsets Gallery Cafe inside the old Rosebery church. This car was also painted by Kaff-eine.
I took my niece Isabella along for the journey and we had an added surprise of seeing an Eastern Barn Owl up close, sitting in that tree to the left at the front of the silo! An amazing looking creature, the owls eyes followed us wherever we walked – something we didn’t expect to see in the middle of the day (we were told they live in the disused silo)!
If out and about on the Silo Art Trail don’t forget to stop by in the nearby town of Beulah. Here you will find a great Arabian horse street art painting by Kaff-eine on a wall opposite the pub too!
There is apparently also some hidden street art out on abandoned buildings around the region the silo trail is in. Something to look out for in the future!
