SOUTH AMERICA: One day I will make it there too! I have had to cancel a number of trips to South America over the years due to flooding, landslides and rebel terrorist activity (“thanks” Shining Path!!!), but I will get there!!!

I have actually been in more countries than this in transit via airport transfers but unless I have set foot in an actual city (not just the airport) and done some exploring, they don’t get counted (i.e. Lebanon – Beirut and United Arab Emirates – Dubai). I also possibly stepped foot in Zimbabwe during a white water rafting trip in Zambia.

Well presented article Deano. My mother, maiden name Nellie Levena Pendlebury and a grandaughter of Thomas Pendlebury, lost three cousins in France: George Henry Pendlebury and his brother Thomas Gould Pendlebury, and their cousin John Ernest Pendlebury. We will be in France June 2017 and hope to get to the respective cemeteries.

Thanks John, I assume you read the Australian Heroes at Rest? It was a moving experience visiting the graves of George and Tom in 2012. You will find it a rewarding experience. I gather our nearest relative linking us was Charlotte Simpson (who I really only ever knew as Aunty Charlotte)?
